Wanted to purchase an aurora to see whether the hype about their nibs is true. Since I already have a bunch of black and business looking fountain pens, I felt like I needed a fun pen, but not at the cost of a poor QC nib. So it had to be an aurora. Had my sights on the aurora 88 baia but all the good nib options were sold out. Shipping from abroad would have broken the bank, so this was the best option left. Now that I have it in hand the resin is quite stunning, with a brilliant deep blue colour. Not exactly a big fan of the dark blue trim but it might grow on me. The nib thankfully is an absolute joy to write with. Not as smooth and effortless as the 823 but the feedback adds quite a bit of character and adventure to the experience of writing with it. I do still prefer Sailor's version of feedback. But variety is indeed the spice of life and although the trim is not my cup of tea, the resin itself is mesmerizing to look at. This is not your one pen collection, but if you're considering it, you would not be disappointed.
